I’m so excited to share our final 2020 wedding with you all!  I’ve known Derick since he was a child, and I cannot believe he is now a husband.  Back in 2006, I landed a job as a preschool paraprofessional right out of college while I was building my business.  I was so blessed to work under Derick’s Mom.  She taught me so much and I will always treasure the time we had together.  I think we figured out that Derick was 12 at the time.  Through Facebook and run ins at the store, I’ve watched him grow up to be an amazing young man.  

When I first met Lily, I just loved her.  She has such a sweet, calming spirit about her and she is so easy going.  Lily & Derick are such a precious couple, and I am so very thankful that they chose me to document their day.

I started out with Lily at the Dansereau House.  This is the perfect place in downtown Thibodaux to get ready.  Lily and her bridal party had the entire 2nd floor.  Lily was so calm and so ready to marry her high school sweetheart!  When you have dated someone for 9 years, you know they are the one! 

Lily & Derick were married at St. John the Evangelist in Thibodaux.  Father Joey really got to know the couple and his homily was spot on.  After 9 years, these two can finally say they are married!  

The reception then followed to The Foundry.  I love this reception venue so much.  The building has a special ambiance and it’s such a great reception venue.  Lily and Derick had the talented Torregrossa Fine Art as their live painter.  She even added their fur baby in the portrait!  Everyone was in awe!  Then there were the cakes!!!  Sweet Stirrings seriously knocked it out of the park with these cakes!!  So very talented!! The disc jockey, D2 Entertainment, had the guest dancing in no time.  It was a night filled with lots of laughter, singing but most of all love for this precious couple.   

Lily & Derick, I cannot thank you enough for trusting me to document this day for you.  We had the best time celebrating with you guys and I can’t think of a more perfect couple to end the 2020 wedding season with.  I hope you guys had an amazing time in South Dakota (shoutout to the best man… he planned the trip… how cool is that)! Here are a few of my favorites from your night!  I hope you enjoy them!  Congratulations again!  We are so very happy for you guys!
