Mr. & Mrs. Trosclair

St. Genevieve Catholic Church | Cypress Columns

Married: May 31, 2025

After a week of rain, I woke up to the most beautiful morning on the last day of May. The skies were clear, the air was cooler, and it truly felt like a gift for Dianna and Jerry’s wedding day.

Originally, their wedding was set for November, but when news came that Cypress Columns would be closing, they made the decision to move their date up to May to keep their reception at the venue they had envisioned. Plans came together quickly, but everything unfolded beautifully, and their day couldn’t have been more perfect.

When I arrived, the energy in the room was full of joy. The girls were singing and dancing to Mamma Mia, and it was obvious that everyone was beyond excited for Dianna and Jerry. I absolutely loved how Dianna turned her mother’s wedding dress into a robe. It was stunning and so sentimental. Such a beautiful way to honor her mom and add something meaningful to the day.

The guys started their portraits at Cypress Columns, then headed to St. Genevieve for an emotional first touch. Dianna and Jerry exchanged handwritten notes, and Jerry gave Dianna a stunning pair of earrings. It was such a sweet and quiet moment before the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was heartfelt and full of emotion. Before we knew it, they were husband and wife, and everyone made their way back to Cypress Columns, ready to celebrate.

The reception began with Dianna and Jerry’s first dance, followed by a sweet father-daughter dance and a tender mother-son dance. Their wedding party toasted, and in no time, the newlyweds were cutting their cake. One of my favorite moments was when Dianna hit the dance floor with her girls and all the female guests for Dancing Queen. She handed out flower crowns and flowers, making sure everyone felt part of the moment. The fun continued with a trivia game where Jerry’s sister was crowned the winner for knowing the couple best. Guests danced, laughed, and visited, and as the night came to a close, Dianna and Jerry shared a private last dance. Their exit under a shower of rose petals was the perfect ending to a truly joyful day.

This wedding also marked the end of an era for me. It was my final wedding at Cypress Columns after nearly 20 years of capturing love stories there. I photographed my very first wedding at the venue on August 13, 2004, for my sister-in-law. At the time, I had not officially launched my business yet, but that day played such a big role in shaping the path I would eventually take. Cypress Columns has held a special place in my heart ever since. I am incredibly grateful to Theresa and Sue for always being such a joy to work with. Thank you for the memories, for your continued support, and for the many wonderful clients you have sent my way throughout the years. You have truly been a blessing to me and to my business.

Dianna and Jerry, thank you for letting me be part of your day. Your love for each other and the way your families came together to celebrate was something truly special. I also want to thank Dianna’s mom, Susan. She has been so wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. All of the parents were incredibly kind and thoughtful, and it was a joy to witness how much love and support surrounded you both. I’m so excited for this new chapter in your lives, and I hope these images help you relive all the joy of that beautiful day.

With love,

Crystal
